Matthew 9:37-38
Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
Nowhere is this truer than on the World Bible School web site where people request email Bible studies. There is such a harvest that we cannot harvest it without more workers.
Last year there was over 15,000 requests for Bible studies by email and only 210 teachers to answer the call. We have students in 126 countries. We are able to teach the gospel in China, parts of Asia, the Arab countries of the Middle East, and Northern Africa. These areas alone represent 1.5 billion people who have access to the gospel for the first time in history through the World Wide Web. What an opportunity!! Normally we have to beg people to study with us and then they can’t find time to fit us in their schedule. With email studies people can fit it into their schedule and you fit it into yours. It is convenient, non-threatening and easy to do. WBS sends you the lessons and you copy and paste them into an email to your student, the student replies with the answers filled in for you to grade and place your comments. It is truly thrilling to see people understand exactly what the Bible says, and get excited because they understand it! I am studying with a student in Nigeria and a computer programmer in Malaysia as well as several in the states and even one who says he wants to preach the Gospel. Several of my students are Catholic and I have never been able to get someone who is Catholic to study with me. WBS recently had a lesson from a new student in Nicaragua who wrote that even though he and his wife leaned toward the adventist groups he said, “I want to know what the will of Jesus Christ is for me.”
WBS has people from all over the world begging to study. We are losing them because there aren’t enough teachers to respond to their requests immediately. In today‘s world people will not wait; if we do not teach them they will learn from someone who will teach them error.
WBS web site is www.wbschool.org . Read about it on the site and decide if you have a few minutes to spend teaching the Gospel to those who truly want to hear it. As one who has taught home Bible studies for over 30 years it is very refreshing to teach those who truly want to learn.
Email lessons are also convenient for studying with visitors to your congregation and just about anybody that you know; even some of your members could benefit from these lessons. It is very hard to find time to fit a study into your and others schedules - email lessons answer this and you can study in a non-threatening way. I am studying with the lady who cuts my hair and a visitor who lives 2000 miles away - you can’t get that kind of results with face-to-face studies!

Our current costs for operating WBS is about $200 per day. As our number of teachers increase and the number of people reached increases this cost will go up - but where else can you reach so many who are begging to hear the gospel for such a low cost? You can share in this financially too.
